About

Welcome to the Blog. I'm glad you stopped by.

My name is Brandon, but I go by The Lone Wanderer. Why you may ask. It's pretty simple really. I do most of my travels dun dun dun Alone. Not really, but it would sound weird if it was The Not So Lone Wanderer now wouldn't it.

Where it all Began

Ever since I was a kid, I knew that I wanted to travel the world. The only problem was figuring out a way to do it. I've tried many things in order to turn my dream into a reality, including becoming a pilot in high school.

I was told many times through out my life that I should simply get a job and wait till retirement to travel, but I refused to listen. No matter what anyone told me, I knew what I wanted out of life and I would do whatever it took to get there. The funny thing is, I really didn't expect it to be so simple. Everyone said that travel is so expensive, that the world is a dangerous place, but in actuality, depending on how you travel, it can be both cheaper and safer than life at home. I suppose that was the biggest shock for me.

How Did I Get Started

December 16th 2015 was the day it all began. It's when I left on a one way ticket to Australia. I don't think I told anyone the exact date. I just got up and left. I had been preparing for quite some time. I worked as a Bartender, Martial Arts Instructor and Pet sitter, building up funds for my trip. Once I felt that I had enough money I was off. I stayed in Australia for an entire year. In all honesty I was winging the whole thing. I still am actually. During that time I came up with a few little business ideas that have helped fund my travels. At least enough to get me off to New Zealand for a few months. Now I'm working on even more ideas in order to extend my trip indefinitely.

What's The Point Of This Blog

I've read many blogs through out my time trying to figure out how to travel the world. One of the things I noticed when reading different blogs was that everyone seemed to want to talk about how amazing there time was, how much fun they were having and all the great things they've seen. Of course there's no problem with that, but I found that many were missing a major thing. They never seemed to talk about exactly how they did it. My goal in creating this blog is to show you how to travel the world, to get into those gritty details such as visas, medical treatment, phone service, shopping, and banking. Don't worry I'll also include my crazy adventures, but by the time you finish reading this blog I'm confident that you'll be able to go anywhere in the world and travel like a veteran.
